Winter is here. Thanksgiving is ahead, as are Christmas parties and family get togethers. This means more sitting, less activity, and more eating and drinking.
As such, you are probably dreading the ultimate damage the Holidays are going to do to your waistline…
… unwanted belly fat.
Researchers have found that most American adults gain 1 pound of fat over every holiday year. Interestingly enough, American adults on average add 1 additional pound of bodyfat per year over their lifespan.
BAD NEWS FOR YOUR GOLF GAME.
Most people don’t ever lose the pound of weight they put on during the holidays, according to a report in The New England Journal of Medicine. Since the average weight gain during adulthood is about one to two pounds a year, that means much of midlife weight gain can be explained by holiday eating.
It’s no secret then why your golf game deteriorates as you age…
It doesn’t have to be this way… look at Tom Watson in the British Open a few years ago. An older guy COMPETING right to the end with the young guys HALF HIS AGE.
I hate to point out the obvious, but belly fat is raising your score:
- Belly fat DECREASES your range of motion. This means shorter
drives and long iron approach shots. Are you better at long irons than
the short sticks?
- Belly fat DECREASES your stamina, making the end of the round
much harder than it needs to be… probably increasing your score
as well. How does that low back and energy level feel on #15?
These two points alone are enough to increase your score 5 to 7 shots per round… if not more.
So why not take ACTION and bullet-proof your body and golf swing this winter?
